What is the Kingdom of God?

A Kingdom has a King.   The king is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,  the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.

A Kingdom has subjects.  By nature we are not obedient to God.  Because of this, we cannot be part of His Kingdom.  The things that we have done wrong separate us from God.  The Good News is that those things have been taken care of.  How?  Because he loved us, Jesus paid the penalty for these wrong things so that we could be part of His family and obedient subjects in His Kingdom.

A King rules his Kingdom.  God is particular about how things are done.  He wants His will done on earth as it is done in heaven.   By doing things God's way, we extend His rule.   Areas that are under a King's rule are understood to be part of His Kingdom. 

 A King has servants.  God has chosen to work through us.  We are the hands and feet of Jesus, His body on earth.   Our job is to help others find their way into the Kingdom and to help His will to be done in every area.

We're all invited.   We are all part of this community and we are all connected to larger communities.  We are all invited to extend God's rule.  We can all be Kingdom builders!
