Frequently Asked Questions

Q.   What is the purpose of this website?

 A.  This website is designed to be a tool for the Christians in this region.  There is a comprehensive listing of local Christian churches.  This is particularly helpful to those looking for a local church.   A section for posting Events will help enable people to be informed about regional activities so that they can attend and offer prayer support.   A section for posting Ministry Initiatives is available so that the region, as a whole, can be kept up to date on existing and emerging ministries.  This should help harmonize efforts, reduce overlap and connect interested individuals.   This website should grow as the church in this region grows.

Q.  How do I submit information for the site?

A.  Information on how to list your event is here.   Information on how to update information on your church is here.

Q.   I heard something about a 'Regional Church.'  What is the 'Regional Church'?

A.   There are two dimensions to the church in this region.  One is unseen... it is simply all of the Christians in the region.   The other is seen - these are the Christian groups, gatherings and organizations that exist across the region, this dimension is sometimes referred to at the "regional church."

Q.  What is the benefit to working together across the region?

A.  Each church has its scope of influence.  Some opportunities for service are larger than the scope of any particular church.   For instance, the Care/Prayer/Share initiative has the vision that in every neighborhood someone would pray for each person by name and by need.   Many of the Christians throughout the region will need to work to together to make this happen.  And, think of results of everyone being prayed for on a regular basis!   It takes the whole body working together to meet some of the broader needs of the community.

Q.  What if some people say, "I don't want to be part of any regional church?"

A.  Let's think of a family reunion.  It happens every year and so far I have managed to escape having to attend.  But, this year I am lassoed into it.  I get there and sure enough, what do I find?   Maybe some people I don't really like.  People who embarrass me.  People can be downright weird!   And, to think... they might be my uncle or aunt or niece or cousin.   Yikes!  The problem is, we can choose our friends, but we can't choose our relatives.  If we are Christians, we are all part of this unseen structure, the church.   When we see Christian organizations like the First Baptist Church, Christ Community Church, etc., we are seeing visible organizatons of the unseen 'real' body of Christ.  If we are believers, we are all a part of the unseen church, including the section of the church that exists across this region and sometimes referred to as the regional church.

Q.  I want to start a ministry initiative, what do I do?

A.  There are a number of things to consider...  Have you prayed about it?  It is important to be moving with God, not just doing things on our own.   Is this a personal ministry/service, just something you need to do by yourself?  Is it an initiative that you should be doing with fellow believers from your church?  Is it something that you feel would be beneficial for the entire region and beyond?   The key to success in any initiative is to link with people who are like-minded who can help, to have a clear view of what success will look like, put your hand to the work, learn the skills necessary and give God all the glory for successes.    It also never hurts to seek council from those who are being successful in ministry/service.

Q.  I thought Pastors and Preachers were Ministers.  It sounds like other people are being called ministers, too.  I don't get it.

A.  Yes, we do call Pastors and Preachers ministers.  It will help us if we look at what the word minister and ministry actually mean - they mean servant and service.  We are all called to be servants and to offer service to others.  The unique abilities we have that allow us to serve well in certain ares are sometimes called 'talents' or 'gifts.'   An organization that is formed to serve is often called a 'ministry.'

Q.   Who is in charge?

A.    God.  Various organizations exist across the region and new ones are emerging.  Each has its own leadership.    No one is 'in charge' of this region, only God.

Q.  I have ideas for this website.  Whom do I contact?

A.  Just e-mail them to theChurch@kingdomtransformation.com.

Q.  I have some questions about all of this.  Can someone give me some answers?

A.  E-mail your questions to  theChurch@kingdomtransformation.com.

Q.  I hear there is a "Kingdom Builder" meeting that happens monthly in Mansfield.  How is that related to all of this.

A.  Good question.  There are a number of meetings that happen regularly in the region where people plan initiatives for the region and offer ministry to the region as a whole.   Kingdom Builders in one such group.  There are Pastor's Prayer Meetings, ministries such as Harp and Bowls, plus other groups are emerging.    You can view the upcoming schedule here.

Q.  How do I get involved with one of the 'leadership' type groups?

A.  Contact a member or leader of the group to understand who the group is open to and how to get involved.
